If you still have some old 'definitive' (regular issue)
postage stamps without bar-codes, that maybe you found
whilst writing your Christmas cards recently,
you may be interested (and even very surprised) to know that
the Royal Mail's Swap Out campaign is still running.
If you have a printer, you can swap out up to £200 worth of non-barcoded stamps
by following the Royal Mail's instructions here on "How to get a 'Stamp Swap Out' form".
Then send your printed form and stamps (free of charge) to "Freepost SWAP OUT".
You can also contact the Swap Out team on ☏ 03452 660 804
or online via royalmail.com/swapoutsupport .
Special Stamps with pictures on and Christmas Stamps without a barcode
will continue to be valid and don't need to be swapped out.

Thousands of stamps will become unusable within months after Royal Mail announced major changes. The postal service has said it has "reinvented" the stamp for the next generation.
These new stamps will be similar to the regular stamp featuring the profile of the Queen, but will have an added barcode on the right-hand side. Royal Mail has said that the barcodes are part of a modernisation drive that will enable new services.
All non-barcoded stamps will be valid for use until 31st January, 2023 31st July 2023. After this date, non-barcoded stamps will be treated as insufficient postage … but special stamps and Christmas stamps will remain valid.
